Mark handles broad budget management, reconciliation and fiscal processing for the Department of Theater, as well as coordinating course schedules, human resource support, and manages the Department's theater refurbishment and renovations, as well as a wide variety of other projects. He will earn an M.B.A. from UMass' Isenberg School of Business in the Fall of 2011. For the Department, Mark has taught stage management, introduction to acting, script analysis for production, and Introduction to Theater, the Dept.'s 300-student general education theater appreciation & history course, both in live lecture format and fully on-line presentation. Mark joined the staff at UMass in 1995 as Production Manager, transitioning to Business Manager in 1999, and General Manager in 2005. Prior to arriving at UMass, Mark earned a M.F.A. in directing at the Mason Gross School for the Arts at Rutgers University, and a B.A. in Theater from U.C. Berkeley. Mark has worked in an administrative capacity for several regional theaters, including the American Conservatory Theater, the American Repertory Theater and the Huntington Theater Company. He has acted and directed for New Century Theatre in Northampton, Mass, as well as the Majestic Theater in West Springfield and the Summer Theater at Mt. Holyoke.
