Amphiphilic homopolymers form versatile supramolecular assemblies in aqueous phase and in organic solvents. In contrast to amphiphilic block copolymers, each repeat unit in the polymer chain contains both hydrophilic and lipophilic functionalities. The environment-dependent assemblies from these polymers have been characterized by light scattering and electron microscopy.
