STrategic Envirotechnology Partnership
Mission
Established in 1994, the Strategic Envirotechnology Partnership (STEP)
is a joint program between the Massachusetts Executive Office of Environmental
Affairs (EOEA) and the University of Massachusetts to assist businesses
with the development and promotion of innovative, technology-based solutions
to environmental problems in the Commonwealth. STEP's mission
is to:
- Promote and stimulate private development and investment in environmental
technologies.
- Foster a business and regulatory climate in which innovative environmental
technologies can thrive.
- Stimulate the development and use of technologies which increase
environmental protection and resource conservation.
Services
- Technical Assistance - third-party verification of the cost and
performance of a technology, demonstration, applied research and development;
- Business Assistance - business planning and development services;
- Regulatory & Permitting Assistance - clarification of regulatory
issues and facilitation of permit reviews; and
- Access to Markets - access to state agencies as well as other states.
