Open Space |
A lot is happening these days on open space, with towns in Franklin County working on their open space plans, and the Trustees of Reservation working on this issue in our region.

What can you do right now? How about helping CROW (Center for the Rehabilitation Of Wildlife) buy 73 acres in Hawley for a permanent clinic for orphaned and injured birds and other wildife? The land they want to buy includes diverse habitats, surrounded by large areas of undeveloped lands.
The property has almost a half mile of road frontage and could have been divided into ten or more building lots. After the transfer of ownership is complete, the development rights will be donated to the Franklin Land Trust in order to ensure that the land is never turned into a sub-division. Make checks to the Franklin Land Trust (CROW) and send to PO Box 216, Ashfield, MA 01330.
