In the Triad Tool Room, separate from the hustle and bustle
of exhibit hall, attendees will have the opportunity for
extended hands-on experience and live interaction with
four separate tool developers.
This special room will provide our attendees with a small
intimate space to work directly with tool developers while
engaging in extensive demonstrations of various software
packages, communication resources, and field tools. Tool
owners can brainstorm with attendees on possible applications,
provide short tutorials and educate participants on the
capabilities of their tools and services.
Examples of these tools include:
- Distance Collaboration Tools (QP, Web Conferencing,
etc) - facilitate
real-time data review and exchange, hold
systematic planning meetings
virtually to accommodate busy schedules
and travel restrictions,
increase stake-holder buy-in
- Data Storage and Exchange (Scribe/Scribe.net)
- Decision support tools (SADA)
- Field tools to collect data (R5 FIELDS and RAT tool)

Outdoor
Vendor Demo
Thursday June 12, 2008 • 8:30
am to 5:00 pm
Metawampe Lawn, just outside
the Campus Center
Free to Conference Booth Exhibitors,
$500 for others |
We have opened up the courtyard lawn for a rare
opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their technologies
or equipment. The “outdoor exhibit hall” will
be available on a first-come, first served basis to a limited
number of vendors. Intrusive drilling or sampling will
be an option that is feasible given the proper protocols
and advance planning.
This one-of-a-kind marketing opportunity is free to conference
booth exhibitors.
This is a rare opportunity to take conference exhibition
to another level. After spending the day on Tuesday and
Wednesday talking with conference participants about your
technology or equipment, spend the day on Thursday showing
and involving them. On Thursday, you will be able to utilize
both the indoor and outdoor exhibit halls because both
will be equally well attended. While the demo area will
be available all day Thursday, the conference has dedicated
a 2-hour slot from 8:30 to 10:30 am specifically for the
Vendor Demos.
For vendors offering tabletop demonstrations, tables and
chairs will be available. Large equipment vendors will
be given approximately 40 by 40 feet of space to showcase
their equipment. Contact Jane at 413.545.2842 for more
details regarding this amazing opportunity to reach hundreds
of environmental professionals solely focused on learning
as much as possible about advancements in real time measurement,
sampling approaches, and other Triad “tools.”
Once equipment is removed, the lawn must be repaired
back to UMass Landscape Services qualifications. UMass has
the right to bill the vendors if repairs are not satisfactory.
A dig safe permit must be obtained for any apparatus
going into the ground. All holes must be covered each
day. The University reserves the right to determine
if equipment can be put on the lawn depending on the
current weather and lawn conditions.
Note: Space is limited. You must check for availability
at 413-545-2842 or conferences@tei.umass.edu before
choosing this option on the registration form!
