Directions and Lodging

The conference will take place on the first floor of the Campus Center, University of Massachusetts Amherst, located in the scenic Connecticut River Valley. There is a limited number of hotel rooms reserved at the Campus Center Hotel where the conference will take place. (See Directions and Lodging for more information.) Note that Government employees can ask for the special $92/night rate at the Campus Center Hotel.

Amherst is served by major airlines through Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut (about 1 1/4 hours by car) and Logan Airport in Boston (about 2 1/2 hours by car). Rental car and bus service are available from both airports.

The Valley Transporter provides a shuttle service to and from both airports, Amtrak and bus stations to the University of Massachusetts. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED for the Valley Transporter, call (800) 872-8752 or (413) 253-1350 for details.

Gopher Livery Service also offers rides from Bradley or Logan airports, and charges per trip, not per person so you can share the ride with another person. Call 413-219-7935 to book.

We have created a forum for attendees to share rides to and from the conference. Please use it freely!

UMass has a good interactive Trip Planner site to figure how to get where when. Good to find out what bus to take, for instance.

See the Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce for dining and attractions in town.
