Offers training at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral level, along with dietetic internship experiences and off-campus outreach and education.

Food Safety Research Consortium

Conducts research on food and agricultural marketing and related policy questions. It provides information that contributes to improved performance of the food production and marketing system. The Policy Center is primarily an economic research organization but also conducts interdisciplinary research.

UMass Center For Agriculture

Brings together agricultural programs from UMass Extension, the College of Natural Resources and the Environment, and the Massachusetts Agricultural Experiment Station. The purpose of the Center for Agriculture is to serve as a portal through which individuals, industries, and agencies can connect with scientists and educators.

Conducts interdisciplinary research when appropriate, and communicates results to the public. Key users include farmer and consumer organizations, agribusiness firms, public agencies, state legislatures, and the U.S. Congress.

Campaigns for health, justice and sustainability.

Organic Trade Association

Focuses on the organic business community in North America. OTA's mission is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public and the economy.

Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA)

Works to sustain agriculture in western Massachusetts, throughout the state and across the country. Builds a secure local food and farming system and Strengthen relationships between consumers and farmers.

The New England Small Farm Institute (NESFI)

Encourages more sustainable regional agriculture. Located in Belchertown, MA, on Lampson Brook Farmstead.

Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) Massachusetts

Works to educate members and the general public about the benefits of local organic systems based on complete cycles, natural materials, and minimal waste for the health of individual beings, communities and the living planet.

Food Issues and Food Organizations - Beyond

Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Food Safety Office

Leads CDC’s food safety program to prevent illness, disability and death due to domestic and imported foodborne diseases.

Natural Resource Defense Council's Food Farming and Pesticides Program

Monitors the federal government's actions to safeguard the food supply from pesticide residues. Also participates in advisory committees that study the effects of pesticides and other chemicals and develop strategies for reducing pesticide exposure and related illnesses.

International Food Policy Research Institute

Promotes a world where every person has secure access to sufficient and safe food to sustain a healthy and productive life and where decisions related to food are made transparently and with the participation of consumers and producers.
