Welcome to the University of Massachusetts Amherst Guide to Educator Licensure programs. The programs included in this guide are for candidates interested in licensure as teachers, administrators, counselors, school psychologists, and speech language pathologists. Our goal is to prepare individuals who not only meet licensure requirements but who also have the potential to become leaders in the schools that they serve.

While centered in the School of Education, the preparation of educational practitioners is a campuswide effort. Subject matter knowledge is central to all our professional preparation programs. Faculty from almost every School and College at the University contribute directly to the knowledge base for our candidates, offering a significant array of professional preparation programs.
