The Stockbridge School of Agriculture’s Sustainable Food and Farming program presents “Women Entrepreneurs in the Food System,” a lecture series taking place on three Tuesdays: Sept. 26, Oct. 24 and Nov. 28 from 5:30-6:45 p.m. in 202 Paige Laboratory.
Members of the department of landscape architecture and regional planning are planning to place trees, shrubs and seating near Franklin Dining Commons on Friday, Sept. 15 to create two parking space-sized “parklets” as part of a worldwide event called Park(ing) Day.
Organic produce grown at the UMass Amherst Student Farm is sold weekly at Northampton, Amherst and Greenfield branches of Big Y World Class Markets. The students learn the entire process of running a farm, from growing to harvesting to retailing.
