A diverse panel of educators, farmers and community organizers representing a range of work in the Pioneer Valley food system will be sharing various perspectives, stories and challenges in their work and strategizing to bring more local, healthy food to all areas of the community on Wednesday, July 30 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Hitchcock Center, 525 South Pleasant St. The panel will be followed by a potluck.
A workshop on food preservation will be presented Monday, Aug. 18 from 5-7 p.m. at Not Bread Alone, 165 Main St. Participants will sample different kinds of preservation including fermentation, canning and making pesto. There will be rotating stations so participants can get their hands on multiple types of food preservation practices.
