UMass Amherst Summer College offers of two-, four- and six-week intensives all with optional college credit.
Summer College offerings expand on the successful high school programs UMass has offered for many years in the literary (Juniper Institute For Young Writers) and performing arts (Jazz In July).
All intensives offer a mix of content combined with hands-on experience in a laboratory or studio setting.
Class sizes are limited and offer opportunities for the exchange of ideas and the development of new knowledge and skills. Students will frequently work in small teams with the guidance and support of the faculty and a graduate teaching assistant. Students will also have opportunities to develop their own projects in small groups or individually, using the outstanding resources available at UMass Amherst.
