About Off Campus Student Services

Off Campus Student Services provides guidance, resources, and programs for students seeking housing, commuting, and living in the greater Amherst Area.  Area landlords work with the OCSS staff on housing fairs, property listings, and educational sessions for students and parents.

The Off Campus Student Center is a place for students to gather, and take advantage of university activities, resources, and programs.  In addition to serving as an activities hub, the OCSC is also a lounge for off campus students, complete with comfortable seating, study space, and the amenities listed below.

Center Location and Hours

  • 314 Student Union
  • Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
  • Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The OCSC is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Center Amenities

  • Work tables, comfortable chairs
  • Fridge and microwave
  • Wireless Internet
  • Charging stations for phones, laptops, and tablets
  • University publications (Bus Schedules, Academic Resources, Health Services, etc.)
  • Board games

Locker Rentals

To rent a locker, please come to the Off Campus Student Center. Bring a check payable to UMass Amherst OCSC.  Lockers are located in the Student Union and the fee is $20.00 per semester/30.00per academic year. Students must provide their own locks.

Hiring Off Campus Student Life Coordinators

Off Campus Student Life Coordinators are a network of students who live off campus and assist with executing the mission of Off Campus Student Services. In their Role, OCSLCs communicate with other off campus students, serving as a resource to build community among off campus students and their neighbors in the greater Amherst area.
