Connect to Your Major

With 88 undergraduate majors to choose from, UMass Amherst offers a wealth of opportunities to delve into a subject area that intrigues you.

If you have not yet declared a major, your sophomore year is an ideal time to do so.  Consider what you've found most fascinating in your studies and explore what various departments have to offer.

Attend the Annual Majors Fair where representatives from virtually all departments on campus in one centralized location.  Students can use this informal time to explore potential areas of study, whether it be for a major, minor, certificate or just curiosity! At the Majors Fair, students (undeclared or declared) can find out about more than 100 different academic programs offered at the University. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and current students to discuss an assortment of majors, minors and certificates as well as an array of career opportunities connected to the various majors.  The Fall 2013 Majors Fair will take place on the evening of Wednesday, October 30th.

If you have declared your major, now is the time to get more deeply involved.
