Meet Our Staff

Sally Linowski

Sally Linowski
Associate Dean of Students, Off Campus Student Life and Community Education

I grew up on Cape Cod, working in my family’s lawn, garden, and marine business from a young age.  I earned a BS in Healthcare Administration from the University of New Hampshire and both a MS and PhD in Public Health from UMass Amherst.

As Associate Dean, I lead Off Campus Student Services, providing support, programming, resources, trainings, and social events for campus community members who live in area neighborhoods. I create opportunities for community outreach, foster student engagement in the community, and maintain liaison relationships with town officials, landlords, residents and university staff.  I enjoy developing innovative peer mobilization and other community-led initiatives, such as Walk This Way, Team Positive Presence, and the Watch for Me Campaign, and working with diverse groups of stakeholders to promote campus safety, civility, UMass pride, and community involvement.

Thea L. Costine

Team Positive Presence Graduate Assistant

I am a Bristol, CT native and have spent the past five years living in western Massachusetts. In 2014 I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Western New England University in Springfield, MA. The fall of 2015 will mark the start of my second year in the UMass School Psychology program where I hope to obtain my Education Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in 2017.

During the 2015-2016 academic school year, I will serve as the Graduate Assistant of Team Positive Presence and Walk This Way. Both of which are programs which aim to promote a positive campus climate.

Avery HenningerAvery Hennigar
Off Campus Student Services Graduate Assistant

My name is Avery and I am from Hamilton, MA. I recently graduated with my undergraduate degree from UMass Amherst where I studied public health and psychology. Currently, I am in a Master of Public Health program on the Community Health Education track.

This is my fifth year living in Amherst, so I know many of the ins and outs of both on and off campus life. I am excited to work with other UMass Amherst students and give back to my community!

Maura RobertsMaura Shea Roberts
Off Campus Student Services Graduate Assistant

I grew up in Amherst, about two miles down the road from UMass.  In May 2009, I graduated from Smith College with a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and the Study of Women and Gender.  After graduating, I moved to Boston and started working at Brandeis University both in Administration and Finance and then as the coordinator for the Office of Planning and Institutional Research.  In the fall of 2014, I moved back to Amherst to start the joint Master of Public Policy & Administration and Master of Education in Higher Education program.

As an Amherst native, I am excited to be working with off campus students and helping them become a part of the larger Pioneer Valley community!
