Clinical Assessment & Referral Services

The following clinical assessment and referral services are available to faculty, staff and graduate teaching assistants:

Mental Health Services - Phone: 413-545-2337

Mental Health Services can:

• provide brief psychotherapies, crisis intervention and 24 hour/day emergency services for the UMass Amherst community
• provide faculty consultation in assessing the seriousness of a situation
• assist faculty in creating a plan for referring students for help
  

Faculty and Staff Assistance Program - Phone: 413-545-0350

The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program can:

• provide assistance to faculty in assessing risk/threat (seriousness of situation)
• assist faculty in developing skills to de-escalate difficult classroom situations
• assist faculty to cope with their own stress, and make appropriate resource referrals
