SD for High School Orchestras

(will begin in 2017)

A newly formatted event for high school orchestras that grants an exciting venue to perform on the UMass Amherst campus. STRING DAY offers the chance for all to participate in sessions, sectionals and coachings with our string faculty for an informative and fun filled day of music making.

STRING DAY for High School Orchestras will focus on how to prepare the young aspiring string player for a career in music through clinics, masterclasses, a chamber music competition (if enough groups apply), and an opportunity for HS seniors to audition at UMass Amherst (more details under 'Audition at UMass').

The day will culminate in a final performance of STRING DAY participants and HS Orchestras.
