Queer-e

Emailed to more than 1,000 subscribers weekly, Queer-e is the Pioneer Valley’s best source for information about local LGBT events and activities.

Queer-e includes information about events, group meetings, volunteer needs, research studies, community resources, and other activities of interest to the LBGT and allied community. During the academic year (September to May), Queer-e is sent out each Friday. During the Summer, messages are posted less frequently (about 1-2 per month). More frequent emails may be sent when something urgent arises that affects the local LGBT and allied community.

How do we live into the most expansive, inclusive version of the Beloved Community and by doing so, bring in others along the way? Come listen to one first-year seminarian's musings on this. Sermon delivered by Karen G. Johnston, candidate for the Unitarian Universalist ministry.

Please feel warmly invited and welcomed – regardless of your faith identity -- to this worship service that is pro-trans/genderqueer – too often religion not only doesn't make room for genderqueer folks, but casts them out. Come have a different experience!"

14. Paid Summer Internship with the Family Diversity Project

"Family Diversity Projects, a national non-profit organization in Amherst, MA, is the creator of the traveling photo-text exhibits LOVE MAKES A FAMILY: Portraits of LGBT People and their Families (also a book), PIONEERING VOICES: Portraits of Transgender People, and IN OUR FAMILY: Portraits of All Kinds of Families, is looking for a summer paid part-time internship. We are about to launch in October a new exhibit entitled WE HAVE FAITH: LGBT Clergy and People of Faith Speak Out, and we need help with outreach, PR, researching potential venues, and also help with social media (creation of a Facebook page for example), text formatting on InDesign, proofreading. I need an easy-going person with an extremely responsible and organized way of working. Someone who can figure things out on their own and has a passion for these issues would be great! This could be two different jobs. Not sure of the number of hours and pay will depend on what skills you have. Please email info@familydiv.org and visit our website at www.familydiv.org for more information."
