Minitab 15 Site License

Minitab 15 is now available through the University of Massachusetts site license. The license is only valid for installation on University-owned machines, at any UMass campus, and requires a minimum purchase of 5 licenses. Site licenses require an initial fee and an annual renewal fee. For current pricing, see OITs Site License information page.

Students can get Minitab with a 6 or 12 month license through the Minitab e-academy. Single copies of Minitab with a perpetual license is available to students and faculty through both the Minitab e-academy and the University Store.

Getting Minitab

If you wish to get Minitab under the University of Massachusetts site license program, please contact the OIT Administrative Desk at 545-9730 or stop by A119 LGRC (Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

What's New in Minitab 15

Minitab License Manager:

Minitab 15 runs under a license manager, which must be installed in order to use Minitab 15. The license manager can be installed on a combination of network servers and individual machines, to enable your licensed copies of Minitab. Network licenses require a minimum of five licenses.

New features include:

Assign formulas to columns: columns update when the data changes (as in a spreadsheet).
New calculator functions, including many for text manipulations
Line plots
Graphs of power and sample size.
Probability distribution plots.

Compatibility with Minitab 14

Minitab 14 Worksheets and Projects can be opened in Minitab 15.

Minitab 15 Worksheets and Projects cannot be opened in Minitab 14. However, using Minitab 15 you can save projects or worksheets in Minitab 14 format. Any features of a Minitab 15 Project that are not supported in Minitab 14 will not be available when the project is opened using Minitab 14.
