UNIX stats server

OITUNIX access ended on June 15, 2007. If you require use of unix-based statistical software or programming language compilers, use the newer unix stats server.

Current Software Releases

Windows Site Licenses
SAS 9.2 (June 2009) is available for Windows XP Pro, Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate editions. Although the 32-bit version can be used on 64-bit machines, a 64-bit version is also available. System Requirements...

SAS/Spectraview has been "retired", and is not included in SAS 9.2. SAS/Online Tutor has been replaced by SAS e-Learning.

SAS 9.1.3 (aka SAS 9.1 TS1M3) released summer 2005, is no longer being distributed. Current SAS users may continue to use SAS 9.1.3.

Service Pack 4 is a cumulative collection of patches, which must be installed before you can install addtional patches to SAS 9.1.3 . OIT distributed CDs labelled CD Set 51or higher include Service Pack 4. If you installed from earlier CDs, get Service Pack 4 and 'Hot Fixes' at SAS Hotfix Downloads. Hint:If you have not installed SAS Mid-Tier Components, get "Service Pack 4 for SAS Foundation only".

Minitab 15 (July, 2007) is now being distributed. All users must upgrade to version 15.
After isnstallation, be sure to apply the FLEXnet Connect 6.1 security patch.

PASW Statistics 17 (April, 2009) - (the new name of SPSS 17) is being distributed by download. You still need to get a license from OIT to enable the software. If you installed SPSS 17 from CD, you should get the PASW Statistics 17.0.2 and 17.0.3 patches. SPSS 15 and 16 users receive free upgrade with annual renewal. SPSS patches for earlier releases.

Systat 12 (July, 2007) - Systat 12 is being distributed by download. All users must upgrade to version 12 when their current license expires. Beginning with this release, all licenses expire August 30 each year.

Linux Site License
SAS 9.2 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 is will begin distribution August 2009 through OIT's SAS site license. Other Linux implementations are not supported. More...

Macintosh Site License
SAS 6.1.2 for Macintosh is the only available site license for Macintosh. It is no longer supported by SAS Institute, and is years behind current release for suppored operating systems. Macintosh users with Intel-based systems who what to acquire statistical software through OIT site licenses are advised to use BootCamp or Parallels Desktop to install Windows and use SAS Windows release.

PASW Statistics 17 patches

September 2009: PASW Statistics 17.0.3 patch fixes some data management issues Download and installation instructions.

April 2009: PASW Statstics 17.0.2 patch fixes a variety of bugs in SPSS 17, and renames your SPSS software as PASW Statistics!. Download and installation instructions.

SPSS 16 patches

April 2008: SPSS 16.0.2 patch fixes for over 100 bugs, including one whereby a file that appears to save is missing from the system! 16.0.1 patch must be installed prior to installing 16.0.2. To download patches, go to http://support.spss.com/tech/default.asp. Log on with username guest, password guest.

SPSS 15 patches

July 2007: SPSS 15.0.1.1 patch fixes a problem introduced in 15.0.1, which results in data transformation errors following deleting variables.You must have the 15.0.1 patch installed before you can install 15.0.1.1. To download the patch, go to http://support.spss.com/tech/default.asp. Log on with username guest, password guest.

June 2007: Vista Hotfix enables SPSS 15 to run under Windows Vista. This Hotfix must be installed before you run the License Authorization Wizard - or you must re-license after installing the Hotfix. The Hotfix download, and Instructions for applying the Hotfix are at http://support.spss.com/Student/Patches/SPSS/15VistaHotfixReadme.html

The Hotfix is for single user and site license installations only. Installations using a network license do not need to apply this Hotfix.

April 2007: SPSS 15.0.1 patch can be downloaded from SPSS Tech Support website. For description of problems fixed, and to download the patch, go to http://support.spss.com/tech/default.asp. Log on with username guest, password guest.

SPSS 14 patches

April 2006: SPSS 14.0.2 patch cah be downloaded from SPSS Tech Support website. For description of problems fixed, and to download the Hotfix, go to http://support.spss.com/tech/default.asp. Log on with username guest, password guest.
