Statistical Software at UMass

Statistical software is available to the University community from various sources. The Office of Information Technologies (OIT) makes SAS, PASW Statistics (formerly SPSS), Systat, and Minitab available at very favorable rates through site licenses. Eligibilty varies according the rules set by the vendors. Other software can be purchased at the Campus Center Store, OnTheHub or directly from the developer. (more...)

Instructional Materials

Sample Data

Some of the instructional materials have examples and exercises that use certain data files. The link to the data file used, if any, is shown to the right of the link to the instructional material. If you wish to go through the practice exercises, get the data set that goes with the instructions. Other datasets are available at Datasets - Index to Local Datasets. If a data file has explanatory text at the top, be sure to remove any text before attempting to use the data.

You need Acrobat Reader to read pdf files. It is available at http://www.oit.umass.edu/software/download/.
