Welcome to the SRTI course evaluation Web site

This site provides access to useful information from the student course evaluation system, (SRTI). These results can aid students in making appropriate course selections and avoid choices based on inaccurate or random information.

This pilot project furnishes information to guide you in your course selection process. With the instructors' permission, data from the final three questions of the SRTI course evaluations filled out each semester provides students' course ratings.

  • Overall, how much do you feel you have learned in this course?
  • What is your overall rating of this instructor's teaching?
  • What is your overall rating of this course?

For more on this evaluation instrument visit the Office of Academic Planning and Assessment SRTI information page: http://www.umass.edu/oapa/top_srti.html

Not all courses are listed on this site. This occurs for a number of reasons:

  • The department does not use the Student Response to Instruction (SRTI) evaluation instrument.
  • Instructors have elected to not participate in the pilot program.
  • The instructor is not in a tenure track position.

Important note: Teaching and learning represents a complex set of interactions. Please keep in mind that course evaluations offer only one perspective on the classroom experience. Consider their limitations as you review the results. See Interpreting Results for additional information on using these results.

THESE RESULTS MAY NOT BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE OTHER THAN INDIVIDUAL STUDENT COURSE SELECTION.

Development of this pilot project was a collaboration of the Student Government Association, campus administration and the Massachusetts Society of Professors.
