Mednicoff Discusses Iran Deal on "Connecting Point"

David Mednicoff & Carrie Saldo, Connecting Point

David Mednicoff, professor at the School of Public Policy and director of the UMass Amherst Middle Eastern Studies Program, was interviewed recently on Connecting Point, the public-affairs program on WGBY public television, about the Trump administration’s decision to withdraw from the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement.

In a conversation with Connecting Point host Carrie Saldo, Mednicoff outlined misperceptions about the deal, under which Iran agreed to limit its nuclear activities in return for the easing of sanctions. He also discussed the potential implications of the United States’ withdrawal from the international agreement, both for the deal itself and for the US economy and its relations with other nations.

About the School of Public Policy: Established in 2016, the UMass Amherst School of Public Policy is a hub for research and teaching, preparing students for leadership in public service. The program’s focuses include social change and public policy related to science and technology.
