DAVID WHYTE will open the conference on Sunday evening. David Whyte is poet, international speaker, corporate consultant, and author of several books including The Heart Aroused: Poetry and the Preservation of the Soul in Corporate America. He will be sharing his inspiring poetry and penetrating ideas on the corporate and individual soul, creativity, courage and change.
MARGARET WHEATLEY will be in conversation with David Whyte on Sunday evening and deliver a keynote address on Monday afternoon. Margaret Wheatley is author of the best selling books Leadership and the New Science and A Simpler Way. She is the president of The Berkana Institute, a non-profit educational and scientific research foundation and corporate consultant and international speaker. Her latest work is focused on the human spirit and thriving for meaningful work.
DANAH ZOHAR will present Monday morning on her newest book, SQ: Connecting With Our Spiritual Intelligence. She will speak about her theory of a physical, biologically imbedded notion of consciousness, a "unitive thinking." This spiritual intelligence, she states, underlies our beliefs, values and daily actions and can be enhanced. Zohar, an international lecturer, teaches at Oxford University's Templeton College and is author of The Quantum Self, The Quantum Society and Rewiring the Corporate Brain: Using New Science to Rethink How We Structure and Lead Organizations.
NADINE STROSSEN, President of the American Civil Liberties Union, will share participation on the Monday evening panel "The Politics of Spirituality" at the Fine Arts Center. She will be joined by CHARLES HAYNES, Scholar-In-Residence at The First Amendment Center, Vanderbilt University, and a leading authority on religious liberty issues in public education, and by STEVEN KEEVA, Associate Editor of the ABA Journal and author of Transforming Practices: Finding Joy and Satisfaction in the Legal Life.
PETER SENGE will present Tuesday at noon. Senge is Senior Lecturer at M.I.T. He is a leader in education, business and the area of organizational learning. The foundation of Dr. Senge's research, writing and consulting is the position that human values of vision, purpose, reflectiveness and systems thinking are integral and essential to the workplace if organizations are to realize their potentials. His books include The Fifth Discipline: The Art and Practice of the Learning Organization, The Fifth Discipline Fieldbook: Strategies and Tools for Building a Learning Organization and The Dance of Change: The Challenges to Sustaining Momentum in Learning Organizations.
