Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society inducts Dr. Dan Gerber, director of the undergraduate major in Public Health, into
their society.
On March 29th 2009 the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society made Dr. Dan Gerber an honorary member of the Society. Alpha Lambda Delta is an honor society for students who have achieved a 3.5 GPA or higher and are in the top 20% of their class during their first year or term of higher education. Present at the ceremony was Chancellor Robert Holub giving the keynote speech.
The below quote was what was said about Dr. Gerber:
“Our first honorary member (Dr. Dan Gerber) is a man who actively encourages students to follow the Alpha Lambda Delta pledge of using scholarship to benefit their community through his very popular course Public Health 160, My Body My Health. The
course, which many students take within their first two years, provides an invaluable guide to help navigate the numerous health, societal, and mental
challenges faced in the transition to college. Personally, I took this course a
year ago and still rely on its lessons.
For both his selfless devotion to educating students about how to achieve a
balanced and safe college experience and his encouragement of civic engagement,
we are honored to induct Professor Dan Gerber into Alpha Lambda Delta.”
