The School of Public Health and Health Sciences would like to congratulate the winners of the UMass Amherst Alumni Association’s 2012 Student Awards. Each year, the Alumni Association presents more than 100 scholarships and over $90,000 to worthy students. Once again, students in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences are very well represented among the award-winning group of students.

Christine Rogers, Research Assistant Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, has been awarded a two-year grant of $397,396 from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for an asthma study called “Development and validation of a chitin assay for environmental samples.”
