Applying to the Undergraduate Major in Public Health Sciences

New and Incoming Students

Admissions to the undergraduate degree program are administered through the University Undergraduate Admissions Office. Students may enter the major as freshmen or as transfer students from another college or university. Please refer to their website for requirements and application deadlines.

Students Currently Enrolled at UMass

As of February 2nd, 2015, all UMass prospective public health major applicants must attend an information session and complete the application to be eligible to apply to the Public Health Sciences major. The application is located under the “download” column to the right. Applications should be submitted at the information session.

If an applicant would like to learn more about the major but is not ready to apply then he/she is welcome to attend the information session and hand in the application at a later date in the Peer Advising Center in Arnold House Rm 330.

Upon acceptance into the program, it is your responsibility to complete the Change of Major procedure.

Note: You cannot complete the requirements for this major and then apply for the program. Students are strongly encouraged to apply to the major by the end of their sophomore year. Delaying entry to the major may require additional semesters in order to complete the major’s requirements for graduation.
