Join western Massachusetts data scientists, statisticians, and digital humanitarians for a weekend-long hackathon event focused bringing students, faculty, and other professionals together to work on learning more about the Ebola outbreak in West Africa by analyzing real-time data on the outbreak and response.
Logistics and Schedule
This event will be held at UMass-Amherst (1634, LGRT). The schedule (still under development) will include the following events:
- Monday, Nov. 17: Data made available
- Friday, Nov. 21, 5:30pm: Opening workshop, team formation
- Saturday, Nov. 22, 1pm: HackEbola team check-in, status updates, lunch
- Sunday, Nov. 23, 2pm: Late lunch, presentations by all teams
Participants will be encouraged to work in teams at the UMass campus on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday. Snacks, beverages, and lunches will served free of cost to participants.
