Area(s) of Specialization:

cluster randomized design, CBPR statistical analysis, behavioral medicine randomized controlled trials

Research Description:

My research has focused mainly on risk behavior interventions to reduce cancer risk. I have worked with many different behavioral medicine professors on multi-center trials. I provided design, implementation, analysis and paper writing expertise.

Lately I have expanded to working in Community Based Participatory Research. I have developed active collaborations with many local communities working to alleviate the burden of health inequities and health disparities. I have formulated a campus-community coalition with the communities of Holyoke and Springfield, MA, along with working with coalitions in Lawrence, Greenfield, and Northampton, MA. Some of the work in these communities has been to address inequities in cancer screening, rates of teen drug and alcohol use, teen pregnancy, HIV rates and inequities in health information.

Much of my work is funded through NIH research grants.
