HANDS (Health and Nutrition Diversity Scholars) is a new scholarship
program to increase the diversity of students in the field of nutrition.
HANDS Scholars will be awarded a $6000 scholarship annually for up to
three years. HANDS Scholars will participate in a 1-credit Scholars Seminar
each semester, and have access to department and campus-based supports
including tutoring, mentorship and career counseling. HANDS Scholars will
also participate in nutrition conferences and other special programs.
The Department of Nutrition is seeking to identify qualified and enthusiastic
students who will receive support and funding through the HANDS Scholarship
program beginning Fall Semester, 2007.
This project is based upon work supported by the Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service, U.S. Department of Agruculture, under Agreement No. 2006-38413-16595.
