Courses for Non-Majors
The Department of Nutrition teaches several courses as a service to other majors which require nutrition or as a source of science and health information for the entire student population.
The largest and most popular of these is NUTRITN 130, Nutrition for a Healthy Lifestyle, with an enrollment of approximately 1000 students every year. The course satisfies a biological science requirement for General Education and includes discussion sessions to enhance critical thinking particularly relating to food selection and lifestyle decisions. The Department also offers electives in nutrition and weight management, eating disorders, and other special topics on a periodic basis.
NUTRITN 130 is also available online through Continuing & Professional Education.
