Advising Policy

Two faculty members have specific advising duties to all Online MPH Nutrition degree candidates. Patricia Beffa-Negrini, Ph.D., R.D., L.D. is the Online MPH Nutrition Program Coordinator. She will help approve course substitutions and verify that you have met the requirements for graduation. Dr. Mokhtar T. Atallah, Ph.D. is the Graduate Program Director and should be consulted if you need information regarding graduate programs in nutrition, the application process for doctoral programs, and general academic advice.

The Program Coordinator, Dr. Beffa-Negrini, will also assist in planning your semester course schedule, answer questions about the Online MPH Nutrition and your chosen area of interest, and counsel you should other academic issues arise.

You should communicate with the Program Coordinator by email or through mutually pre-arranged telephone calls. During the first year of the program, you should define your area of professional practice, which will be your focus during the practicum as well as study and research during the culminating experience, i.e., 6 credits of Project and Project Presentation or 6 credits of additional coursework with final exit examination (see below). Dr. Beffa-Negrini will help to find a faculty supervisor for your project/culminating experience, including the final course report and presentation or exit exam.
