Welcome to the Department of Nutrition! Whether you are a current or prospective student, parent, alumnus, faculty member, staff or colleague, we hope that these web pages will assist you in learning more about our Department and programs. We offer a diverse range of academic programs, including three tracks to our B.S. in Human Nutrition, a M.S. in Nutrition with two tracks, an in-person or fully online MPH in Nutrition, PhD in Public Health/Nutrition option, and dietetic internship.
Our research spans from cells to communities, addressing significant issues of today such as food insecurity, dietary patterns and disease prevention, nutrition education and health promotion, nutrition and cancer, bioactive food components, and reproductive nutrition. The UMass Extension Nutrition Education Program offers nutrition education for limited income families throughout the commonwealth and UMass ONE offers online education programs and courses available across the globe. Check our student blogs and the Student to Student link to learn more about what’s happening inside and outside of the classroom.
We are proud of the work of our fine students, faculty, and staff, and are pleased to share some of this work with you on this website. Please feel free to contact us if you need additional information.
