NEW POSITION ANNOUNCEMENTS
Position: Two Assistant Professor positions available.
Position #1 (R#25782). Preferred area of interest is applied research on obesity and obesity-related chronic diseases and their prevention. Research can include studies of dietary intakes, obesity-related community interventions; health disparities; biomarkers of nutrition and obesity-related diseases; or effectiveness of preventive and treatment models for obesity and/or related diseases.
Position #2 (R#34590). Preferred areas of interest are basic or clinical research on obesity, diabetes, or chronic disease prevention; antioxidants or bioactive food components; and the role of nutrients in genetic, hormonal or immune responses.
Doctorate in Nutrition or closely related field is required. Post-doctoral research experience preferred, R.D. desirable. Appointee must have strong demonstrated ability or potential in research and teaching and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Duties include: establish and develop active research program with independent base of support funds, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise undergraduate nutrition majors and guide graduate students' research, and develop courses in area of expertise.
Starting Date: Either a January or September 2009 start date is possible. Review of applications will begin October 1, 2008 and will continue until positions are filled.
