A new video produced by the UMass Amherst News Office highlights the research of Assistant Professor of Environmental Health Sciences Rick Peltier. Rick Peltier and Kabindra Shayka of UMass Amherst’s School of Public Health and Health Sciences filmed this report in Kathmandu, where they are leading a multinational study identifying air pollutants and tracking their effects on local police. Peltier's research experiment in Kathmandu, Nepal, uses advanced monitoring methods to assess health risk from air pollution, aiming to demonstrate for the first time in a real-world setting that air pollution can and should be regulated based on toxicology variables.
