Undergraduate public health student Natalie Scott and art student Christie Mendez have designed and are selling a t-shirt to raise funds for hurricane relief efforts.

"As most of you know, the Caribbean Islands were devastated by some of the strongest hurricanes in their history that have left millions without power or shelter," says Scott. "I wanted to help support them, raise awareness and funds to send to those affected. The shirt is inspired by the Caribbean and says 'Fuerza Fòs Force Strength' to try and represent the diverse languages and people of the Caribbean while bringing awareness not just to Puerto Rico - although struck by the most damage - but also to the many islands that faced massive flooding and destruction."

100% of the proceeds will go towards Western Massachusetts United for Puerto Rico and Barbuda Relief Fund. Scott and Mendez’s goal is to raise $600 by November 7th. T-shirts can be purchased online here.

SPHHS graduate students have also organized an SPHHS Trivia Night to raise funds for Puerto Rico. Trivia night will be held on Thursday, November 9th, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in Campus Center Room 917. Donations will be accepted at the door.
