The School will hold its 17th Annual Research Day on Tuesday, April 8. The School holds this event, celebrated annually during the National Public Health Week, as an opportunity for the university, media and surrounding communities to learn more about the research, instruction and outreach conducted by its students. Students from all departments in the SPHHS will present posters of their work which will be judged based on content and presentation. Awards are made in Research and Practice categories. One award will be presented by the Delta Omega Honor Society, which will submit the winner's abstract as part of its submissions to the annual meeting of the American Public Health Association.
The undergraduate Public Health Club and the Public Health Peer Advisors at UMass Amherst will sponsor a number of events throughout the week, including healthy eating workshops and stress reduction events, as well as information sessions on emergency preparedness, global health issues, and disease prevention and health promotion.
