The SPHHS hosted a Corporate Health & Wellness Panel Discussion on Friday, February 28th in the Campus Center’s Hadley Room. Moderated by Kinesiology’s Judi LaBranche, the event featured representatives from Berkshire Health Systems, Health Fitness Corporation, MediFit, and the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts.
Over 50 students, faculty and staff turned out to hear the panelists discuss how they broke into the field, how it has evolved over the years, and how the field may continue to grow since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Panelists included Danielle Allocco, ’13 Kinesiology, a recent alumna now working at Health Fitness Corporation after having interned with them while a UMass Amherst student; Jennifer Babineau, founder of B-Fit Professionals and membership chair of the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts; Tim Korte, program manager with the Berkshire Health Systems’ Wellness Program, and Stephanie Esdale and Shaun Sullivan, program managers with MediFit.
Following the discussion, the panelists joined SPHHS faculty, staff and students for a networking luncheon.
