Online MPH in Nutrition student Ballom wins award

Captain Te Cora Ballom, a student in the UMass Online MPH in Nutrition Program, won the Physician of the Year Award for Applied Public Health from the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS). Ballom has a long history as a strong supporter of public health from her years of service as a clinician with the Federal Bureau Of Prisons, Chair of the Health Care Prevention Committee, and many years mentoring junior USPHS officers. The award was presented in Raleigh, NC at the Medical Category Day Luncheon on Thursday June 12, 2014 as part of the 2014 U.S. Public Health Service Conference sponsored by the Commissioned Officers Foundation.
