October 24, 2014

Hear Our Stories, a digital storytelling research project about young Latina mothers in Holyoke, will be highlighted during a November 5 screening in Cambridge, MA of videos created by participants. The event, organized by the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy, will "illuminate the multi-layered identities of young parents and intersection of issues faced by young people including violence, discrimination, and homelessness," according to a release from the organizers. After the screening many of the young mothers from Hear Our Stories will participate in a panel discussion.

Hear Our Stories is a grant funded project led by Aline Gubrium, Associate Professor of Community Health Education, and Elizabeth Krause, Professor of Anthropology, of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Read more here.
