Doctoral candidate Wu wins first place for poster at NACSETAC conference
Environmental Health Sciences doctoral candidate Haotian Wu recently won first place for his poster presentation at the North Atlantic Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry’s (NACSETAC) Annual Meeting, held June 12-13 at UMass Amherst. NACSETAC is a regional chapter of SETAC, the worldwide society for professionals that study environmental issues, natural resource management, environmental education, and research and development.
The poster, titled “Novel Processing, Storage, and Extraction Methods for Sperm Nucleic Acid Research,” detailed Wu and colleagues’ research developing a new method of processing and storing sperm for nucleic acid.
“Our method, compared to previous published methods, is faster, allows storage of samples at four degrees, and results in greater yield of DNA and RNA,” says Wu.
