Department of Nutrition to host 29th Annual Virginia A. Beal Lecture

The Department of Nutrition will host the 29th Annual Virginia A. Beal Lecture and Awards on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, beginning at 4:00 pm in the Student Union Ballroom.

Joel B. Mason, M.D., Professor of Medicine and Nutrition at Tufts University will provide the keynote lecture titled “Micronutrients and Cancer Prevention: Making Sense of a U-shaped World.” Dr. Mason serves as the Director of the Vitamins and Carcinogenesis Laboratory at the U.S.D.A. Human Nutrition Research Center at Tufts University, a research program that focuses on how nutrition and diet can be exploited for the purposes of cancer prevention.

In addition to the lecture, the program will include a graduate student research open poster session, and a presentation of the Virginia A. Beal, Peter Pellet, and Helen Mitchell awards.

1.5 CPE hours will be offered to attendees.
