Professor of Nutrition Nancy Cohen recently commented in a CNN story about what to eat before, during and after exercise. She suggests people should eat carbohydrates an hour to four hours before exercising. The carbohydrate foods should also be low in fat and low to moderate in protein. It's also important to drink fluids before a workout, she says. After exercising, Cohen recommends eating protein such as dairy products, eggs, meat and poultry.
