Chipkin comments in Reuters article on hormone study in transgender women

Kinesiology Research Professor Stuart Chipkin comments in a story about a new European study that finds transgender women who take sex hormones to feminize their bodies may not experience as much breast development as they expect.

“We know very little about how long this process takes in trans women, and that’s one of the reasons this study is important,” he says. “It’s possible development might look different over a longer period of time or with different doses of estrogen.”
