Andrianopolous comments in Associated Press story on autism

Associate Professor of Communication Disorders Mary Andrianopolous is quoted in an Associated Press story about a young boy who was able to use characters from Disney movies to overcome some of the isolation and loss of language he suffered from autism. She says if a child “is learning communication skills and how to express certain feelings through characters, and has a repertoire of language learned from these movies,” those skills can be help an autistic person live independently.
