Remembering Priscilla M. Clarkson
Support the Priscilla M. Clarkson Endowed Graduate Scholarship Fund
Few individuals made as significant an impact as Priscilla M. Clarkson, Dean of Commonwealth Honors College and Distinguished University Professor of Kinesiology. During her 36 years at UMass Amherst, Priscilla mentored countless Kinesiology students. To these pupils and her peers within the department, she was a friend and trusted advisor.
To pay tribute to her memory, we have established the Priscilla M. Clarkson Endowed Graduate Scholarship in Kinesiology. Each year, the department will award a scholarship honoring Dr. Clarkson to a deserving graduate student. This scholarship will be used to help defray costs of graduate school, provide funding for supplies for research projects and other related expenses, and subsidize travel to professional meetings.
Due to the dedicated efforts of hundreds of alumni, faculty, and friends, we are officially endowed and nearly halfway to our fundraising goal of $100,000. We need your help to reach this goal, and ask that you make an annual gift in Priscilla's memory. Your support can help us carry on Dr. Clarkson's legacy and continue to make a profound impact on our students' lives.
To support this effort, visit the secure donation page at the UMass Amherst Development website. Please choose the “Priscilla M. Clarkson Kinesiology Graduate Endowment” from among the “Special Funds” options in the Allocation drop-down menu. (Note: “Priscilla M. Clarkson Kinesiology Graduate Endowment” should show as Allocation #1.)
