Prospective Students

Alexandra Purdue Smithe

Students entering the Masters and Doctoral Programs in Epidemiology at the University of Massachusetts should expect to receive excellent training from a dynamic faculty that is dedicated to the University’s teaching mission and actively engaged in cutting edge research. Coursework taken toward the degrees includes training in epidemiologic methods, biostatistics, and statistical programming, and will provide students tools for careers in public health and research, or additional graduate studies in epidemiology. Students are actively engaged with faculty, and masters and doctoral students alike have opportunities to gain research experience through work on theses/dissertations, assistantships, and independent studies. You can learn more about the degree programs, our faculty, ongoing research, and other information on this website, and we encourage you to contact us with questions.
