Examining and mitigating the adverse effects of the environment on human health.

The Department of Environmental Health Sciences combines the public health sciences of biostatistics, environmental health and epidemiology with natural sciences, mathematics and engineering to provide a quantitative basis to measure and mitigate the effects of environmental stressors on human health. We prepare our students to become leaders and professionals who anticipate new problems and identify existing ones. They design, implement and evaluate solutions to environmental problems to meet the public health needs of society.
