Community Health StudiesThe Health Policy and Management and Community Health Education programs are related academically and professionally. Both fields are based on the social and behavioral sciences. Both are applied professional programs dedicated to the improvement of the health status of the public. They share essential perspectives of individual, social, organizational, community, and public policy theory, as well as professional skills, such as planning, management, program evaluation, and research methodologies. Each field has unique foundations and foci. Community Health Education specializes in social and educational theory and methods, community organizing, group dynamics, training, and mass communications. Health Policy and Management specializes in administration, economics, finance, law, policy, and regulation. |
