Shlomo Barnoon is an Associate Professor Emeritus in the Department of Public Health in the Department of Public Health. His research interests are primarily in the area of cost/effective delivery and the evaluation of quality of health services. He teaches courses in Health Economics, Quantitative Analysis, Financial Management and the Theory of Organization and Management. He is the former Director of the Division of Health Economics and Administration at the Ben-Gurion University in Israel. He is the former Director of Research of the American Society of Internal Medicine. He acted as temporary consultant to the World Health Organization, conducting projects in Europe, Africa and South America. He received his Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Operations Research from the University of Pittsburgh.

Research and publications in quality assurance, cost/benefit analysis of health projects, financial management in health institutions, decision making and model building for health programs in hospitals and long-term care facilities.
