Dr. DiFulvio is a research assistant professor of Public Health. Dr. DiFulvio received her doctorate in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her current research interests include understanding prevention strategies for alcohol and other drug abuse and violence. She is also interested in understanding the patterns and prevention of mental health issues especially among young adults. Dr. DiFulvio holds a particular interest in the translation of research to practice and helping communities to adopt and integrate current research into their prevention strategies. Her work with the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention is focused on building the capacity of prevention specialists across the country to adopt and evaluate evidence-based practices.

Dr. DiFulvio is committed to workforce development. She teaches in the distance learning public health practice program and more recently is working with the University Without Walls Health and Human Service program to develop courses in public health.
